Best Smile Design Expert in Dominican Republic

At CED Dental Center, your oral health is our priority—and precision is key to great dental care. That’s why we use advanced dental X-ray technology to detect, diagnose, and treat dental issues before they become major concerns.

Whether you're visiting for a routine check-up, cosmetic consultation, or implant evaluation, digital dental X-rays help us see what the naked eye can’t—ensuring your treatment is fast, accurate, and tailored to your needs.

What Are Dental X-Rays?

Dental X-rays (radiographs) are images of your teeth, jaw, and surrounding bone structures. They allow our dentists to see beneath the surface of your smile, helping us identify:

  • Cavities and tooth decay

  • Gum disease and bone loss

  • Impacted or missing teeth

  • Infections or abscesses

  • Jawbone health for implants

  • Orthodontic alignment issues

At CED Dental, we use low-radiation digital X-rays that are safer, faster, and more detailed than traditional film X-rays.

Types of X-Rays We Offer

1. Bitewing X-Rays

Used to detect cavities between teeth and monitor bone levels.

2. Periapical X-Rays

Focus on the entire tooth from crown to root—great for diagnosing infection, abscesses, or root issues.

3. Panoramic X-Rays (OPG)

A full-mouth view that shows your teeth, jaw, sinuses, and TMJ. Commonly used before implants or surgery.

4. Cone Beam CT Scan (CBCT)

3D imaging used for advanced treatments like implants, orthodontics, or full-mouth reconstruction.

When Are Dental X-Rays Needed?

  • First-time visits and full exams

  • Before starting orthodontic or implant treatment

  • Monitoring bone loss from gum disease

  • Diagnosing pain, swelling, or trauma

  • Routine check-ups (usually once a year)

Our dentists recommend X-rays only when necessary and based on your personal dental history and needs.

Are Dental X-Rays Safe?

Yes. Our digital X-ray machines emit minimal radiation, making them very safe—even for children and seniors. We also use protective aprons and follow all safety protocols to further minimize exposure.
